An 18-year-old housemaid has been arraigned before a court in Lagos for stealing her employer's property valued at over N20 million.
An 18-year-old girl, Lydia Shamshi, has been arranged before an Igbosere Magistrates' Court sitting in Lagos State for allegedly stealing her employer's property worth N20 million.
Total Media reports that the girl who worked for one Bamidele Ademola Olateju, allegedly stole the items which include stole 30 set of wrist watches, assorted jewellery, two Toshiba laptops, one iPhone 6, two Nokia phones and charger, $2,000 cash and other items all valued at the amount.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Adeleye, told the court that Shamshi committed the offences between September 22 and 28, 2016, at the residence of the complainant at 1, Val Ifeanyi Close, Bakare II Estate in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of the state.
When the two-count charges of conspiracy and stealing was read to Shamshi, she, however, pleaded not guilty and the presiding magistrate, Mrs A. O. Olagbenga, granted her bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum while adjourning the case till December 7 for a mention.
