In his village, Jalandhar, Punjab of India, Pranshu is worshipped by villagers as the reincarnation of a Hindu god due to a medical condition that left him with an enlarged forehead, narrow eyes and difficulty in walking.

According to the reports, the villagers believe him to be a divine child, a reincarnation of the god; Ganesha.
Ganesha, depicted with an elephant's head on a human body, is alleged to be the god of good fortune who provides prosperity and success, so it is no surprise that Pranshu is much sought after.

People, including his school teachers, bow their heads to him as he is met outside a temple near his village ever Thursday by a crowd who come to him for worship as well as consultation.
Pranshu has four older siblings including an elder brother who suffers from the same condition as he does. However, his older brother can walk properly unlike him.
Pranshu's father who is a labourer can barely afford to fend for his family. He said that Pranshu was taken to a local doctor one year after he was born but they were unable to give a definitive diagnosis or offer any treatment to his condition.
