Security operatives foil kidnap attempt on Sokoto businessman

Four suspects have been arrested in connection to the attempted kidnap of Sokoto based businessman.

The State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC operatives have prevented a kidnap attempt on a Sokoto-based businessman on Sunday, November 27.

The incident was confirmed to Punch correspondents by the corps commandant, Mr Babangida Abdullahi, stating that four suspects were arrested in connection to the foiled kidnap attempt on Mu’azu Danjabalu, the Sarkin Fadan Sokoto at about 9:00pm.
The suspects who reportedly came in from Abuja have been identified as Emmanuel Ohenhen from Edo State; Reuben Mark Gadani from Zuba, FCT; Ahmad Umar from Zamfara State and Abubakar Shehu from Sokoto State.
Abdullahi said, “The kidnap attempt failed sequel to the combined efforts of residents of Magajin Gari road, Yar Gabas area of Sokoto.
”The residents had really helped in foiling the kidnap attempt and in apprehending the suspects, along with their Golf 3 vehicle.
”We have since handed them and the vehicle to the State Police Command for further investigations.”
Punch reports that the image maker of the state Police Command, ASP Al-Mustapha Sani, has confirmed that the police command has taken custody of the suspects and the vehicle seized from them.
According to ASP Sani, the suspects as well as the exhibit vehicle, a Golf 3 saloon car with registration No RBC 922 ND, are now in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigations.
Other items recovered from the suspects are two mobile phones (HTC and Nokia), three identification cards and three Sim cards.
