An angry mob.

A middle-aged man accused of allegedly attempting to kidnap some children in Benue state, narrowly escaped being lynched by an angry mob.

Identified simply as Blessing, the suspect was apprehended on Sunday, November 27, in Akpachi community in the Otukpo area of the state, Daily Post reports.
According to the reports, Blessing was offering some children canned drinks, biscuits and milk, meant to be used to lure them when his luck ran out.
A resident of the area reportedly spotted him and raised an alarm which quickly drew an angry mob who descended on him and beat him to a pulp.

However, there are reports that during the interrogation, Blessing claimed to be a native of Akwa Ibom State and lost his way returning from Port Harcourt where he attended a teaching training.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Mr Moses Yamu, denied any knowledge of the incident but promised to pass on any relevant information which came to his attention.
