'APC leader not sick, he's hale and hearty' - Afikuyomi

Afikuyomi described the statement by Governor Lalong that Tinubu is ill as "grossly unfair and most embarrassing."

Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Tokunbo Afikuyomi, an associate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National leader, Bola Tinubu has denied claims that the politician is ill.

Afikuyomi was reacting to the statement credited to the Plateau state Governor, Simon Lalong.
Lalong had said that Tinubu was not present at the APC governorship campaign rally last Saturday because he was sick.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, November 22, Afikuyomi described the Governor's claim as "carelessly disingenuous, patently false, grossly unfair and most embarrassing."
It is believed that Tinubu deliberately boycotted the rally because he is not in support of the party's candidate for the election - Chief Rotimi Akeredolu.
Some state Governors believed to be loyal to Tinubu also shunned the campaign finale which was attended by President Muhammadu Buhari and other APC chieftains.
The Governors include Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo and Rauf Aregbesola of Osun.
At the governorship primaries conducted in Akure on September 3, Akeredolu defeated Segun Abraham, who is said to be Tinubu's candidate.
The Ondo election will hold on Saturday, November 26.
