A woman who stabbed her male neighbour for touching her without her consent has been remanded in prison on xcharges of assault.
The police in Lagos State has arrested a 26-year-old woman,Tosin Owoyemi, for allegedly stabbing a man who fondled her playfully without her consent.
PM Express reports that the victim, Fola Daba, was stabbed by Owoyemi with a pair of scissors which caused deep injury in his hand.
He was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to a hospital for treatment after the attack. The incident happened at Abaranje in Ikotun area where the suspect and the victim reside both reside.
Owoyemi was arrested by policemen attached to the Ikotun division who arrested her. Witnesses said the suspect was angry because Daba touched her playfully.
A police source said the injury was deep and serious and Owoyemi had committed a criminal offense by her action and should face trial.
She was then charged before a magistrate’s court sitting in Ejigbo with assault under the Criminal Code.
When the charge was read to her, she pleaded not guilty and the presiding magistrate, Mr. A. A. Fashola granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and ordered that she should be remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail, while the matter was adjourned till January 21, 2017.
